The-Light-in-Us.jpg

“No one after lighting a lamp puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light.  Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is bad, your body is full of darkness. Therefore be careful lest the light in you be darkness. If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright, as when a lamp with its rays gives you light.” Luke 11:33-36 It is important to first recognize the truth, that when we live for Jesus, we automatically are given His light to shine. Have you ever thought that wherever you go people notice a difference in the way you look? I don’t mean just physically, I am referring to your whole being; the way you carry yourself?

1 John 5 says, “God is light and in him, there is no darkness at all.” Because of Jesus in us, we are too, lights in this world. We are beacons of His light and have an incredible opportunity to help illuminate the darkness.   Ephesians 5:8 says, “For at one time you were darkness, now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light. We are no longer darkness but because of the Light we have been given, we get to display that same Light to others.

We have been given this light to boldly display to the world. By world, I mean wherever God calls us to. We each have an impact to make for His kingdom, using the Light within us. When we are full of light, the light consumes any darkness. When people come in contact with us, they are attracted to the Light that is in us. So let’s together, make a difference and shine bright for Jesus. Not for personal gain but for Kingdom gain!

Ask yourself this question: Who around you needs to be in the presence of Light? How can you impact others simply by allowing the Light inside you connect with others?
