Have you ever heard someone say they were “called” to do something?

Have you ever felt “called” to do something?

It’s exciting isn’t it?

To feel needed. To feel special. To be chosen.

Sometimes it’s not always fun, however. Sometimes it’s hard. Most of the time I don’t feel that I’m capable or skilled to do what the Lord has called me to do. A lot of times I feel insecure and doubtful. But I take hope in this:

“May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23.

“Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever Amen.” Hebrews 13:20,21.

I find it interesting that in both of these passages God is referred to as "the God of peace." So in times of doubt, frustration, and insecurity, I don't need to be anxious over the things that God is calling me to do, but that God IS PEACE and I can fully rest in Him. I rest knowing that Jesus is sanctifying me to look more like him. I know that I have been given Holy Spirit to work in me. I know that he has equipped me for every good work according to His will. I know that He who has called me is faithful.

Where are areas in your life that you feel inadequate? Who does God say that you are? Trust in Him and what HE SAYS about who you are and what you are or aren’t capable of doing.
